Privacy
Short, because very little data is collected and none of it is sold.
Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Accurate as to intent; placeholders in [brackets] must be completed. Have it checked before launch and delete this notice.
Controller
Geodesic, an independent practice established in [jurisdiction]. Contact: israel.bergenstein@gmail.com.
What is collected
- Enquiry form — name, email, location, what you need, timeline, budget band, your description of the situation, and how you found me.
- Clients — additionally whatever the work requires: transcripts, scores, curriculum vitae, drafts, session recordings.
- Payments — handled by Stripe. Card details are never seen or stored by me.
- Analytics — aggregate page views via a cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics tool. No cookies are set, no individual is tracked across sites, and no consent banner is therefore required.
Why, and on what basis
- To answer your enquiry — your consent, given when you submit the form.
- To deliver an engagement — performance of the contract between us.
- To issue invoices and meet tax obligations — legal obligation.
- To improve the site — legitimate interest, using aggregate data only.
Your data is never sold, rented, or used to train anything.
How long it is kept
- Enquiries that do not become engagements — 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records — for the engagement and 12 months after, except records required for tax, which must be kept for the statutory retention period.
- Session recordings — deleted 6 months after an engagement ends, or sooner on request.
Who else sees it
Only the service providers needed to run the practice: email and file storage, scheduling, e-signature, payment processing, and accounting. Each is bound by its own data processing terms. Where a provider is outside the EEA, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. Nobody else — no associates, no subcontractors, no marketing lists.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Write to israel.bergenstein@gmail.com and I will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority in [jurisdiction], or to the one where you live or work.
