How to use them
GMAC describes the Executive Assessment as 40 questions in three sections, Integrated Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning, each scored from 0 to 20, with a total from 100 to 200 in which the three sections count equally. A calculator is allowed only in Integrated Reasoning. These pages cover the two quantitative sections.
Candidates and prep providers describe each section as two modules taken one after the other, with a chance to review and change answers at the end of each module and no going back afterwards. The timed sections here work the same way. Scores here are raw counts: GMAC does not publish how raw performance maps to the 0 to 20 scale, so we do not invent one.
Common questions
What is the Executive Assessment?
A test from GMAC, the organisation behind the GMAT, designed for experienced professionals applying to executive MBA and some other programmes. It has 40 questions in three sections: Integrated Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning, with a total score from 100 to 200.
Is a calculator allowed on the Executive Assessment?
Only in the Integrated Reasoning section, where an on-screen calculator is provided. The Quantitative Reasoning section is taken without one.
How is the Executive Assessment different from the GMAT?
It is shorter, at 90 minutes, and is aimed at candidates with more work experience. It is designed to need less preparation, but the question formats are closely related: the Integrated Reasoning formats also appear in GMAT Focus Data Insights, and the Quant section uses problem solving and data sufficiency.
Are these official questions?
No. They are original questions written in the assessment's formats, with worked solutions. GMAC sells official practice material, which is the best check of your level once the formats feel familiar.
Applying for an executive MBA?
The assessment is one part of an application in which the essays, the interview and your case for the programme carry most of the weight. I help experienced applicants with all of it, one to one.
