Executive Assessment practice test

A 30-minute Integrated Reasoning or Quantitative Reasoning section in two modules. Review and change answers at the end of each module; then your score and every worked solution.

Choose a test

Opens in its own window. Each section runs in two modules with one 30-minute timer: move freely within a module, review it at the end, then continue. You cannot return to a finished module. Integrated Reasoning has an on-screen calculator; Quant does not, and its second module adapts to how the first went.

Grants brought in (1) last year, and events and the shop together raised (2) grants.

(2) less than · the same as · more than

Show answer
Answer: (1) £450,000; (2) less than
Grants are 30% of £1.5 million: £450,000. Events (15%) and the shop (10%) make 25%, less than the 30% from grants.
1 Easy EA Quantitative Reasoning
After a 20% discount, a jacket costs £80. What was its price before the discount?
  1. £96
  2. £100
  3. £104
  4. £110
  5. £120
Show answer
Answer: B. £100
£80 is 80% of the original, so the original is 80 / 0.8 = £100. Adding 20% of £80 (giving £96) is the classic slip: the discount was taken from the original price, not the sale price.
21 Medium EA Quantitative Reasoning
Month-end share price (£), January–June
£40£45£50£55£60£65JanFebMarAprMayJun£50£55£44£48£60£57
What was the largest percentage fall in the share price from one month-end to the next?
  1. 5%
  2. 10%
  3. 12%
  4. 20%
  5. 25%
Show answer
Answer: D. 20%
The falls are February to March (55 to 44) and May to June (60 to 57). 11 on a base of 55 is 20%; 3 on 60 is 5%.

How it is scored

Every question is marked right or wrong as you go; there is no partial credit, exactly as in the real thing. At the end you get your score, the time you used against the time allowed, your average per question and your longest run of correct answers. Every question then comes back with your answer, the correct one and a full worked solution.
